A long trip
The passengers Durieu Romain and Le Fay Thibaud must appear at departure gate C24 to embark for Singapore. Last call!
No, just kidding, we were in plenty of time :) Come on, it's gone!
First step of the journey: Colombo. About 5,300 miles (or 8 530 km), 10 hours of flight at a cruising speed of 1080 km/h.
A few series that I took helped to kill those long hours because Morpheus didn’t meet us.The movies Srilankan Airlines showed us on the journey were Ice Age 2, a movie with Tommy Lee Jones, I didn’t recognize the title and Total Recall, in English subtitled in Indian. A drink and two meals (not bad) have been distributed. While we move forward on our trip, the international capitals, the moon and stars played us a light show. I wanted to reproduce for you the beauty of these images, but the flash and the window weren’t in agreement :)
After this long fly, we arrived in Colombo around 5:20 AM, local time. We quickly went around the airport to stretch our legs and buy a bottle of water. I didn’t feel any real changes between Terminal 1 of CDG and Bandaranaike International Airport, except the giant statue of Buddha and local products.
After having waited a bit, we took off for Singapore around 7:40. The aircraft being more recent, and above all, more comfortable, we managed to doze off a bit. The air holes and other turbulence were to come and go but it wasn’t a big deal. A few minutes before landing, we saw an island, skyscrapers out of sight and unimaginable carrier traffic.
Singapore (and the monsoon), here come us!
